Emma was playing with the links hanging from the Exersaucer and I had to change her. Ethan took her links and I added a second set so that they would not fight over them and she could have one. It was not long till Emma commandeered both sets and left Ethan out to dry.

Welcome to Ethan and Emma's Blog.
This is the place to keep up with Ethan and Emma's antics.
We have been overwhelmed with all the kind words, gestures and support over the long journey to get here. We could not have done it without you.
Love,
John and Nancy

Emma figured out how to sit up by herself this weekend
Went in to get Emma this morning and found her sitting in her crib again. She sat up by herself on Saturday for the first time (she beat Ethan on this milestone) and then Nanc found her sitting in crib yesterday. We dropped the crib all the way down as they direct to do once this happens. Today when I went in she was sitting again. I hate the crib dropped down so far though, it makes them look so little again and like they are in jail, but safety wins out over our feelings every time.

Grandma and Grandpa Samson come for a visit
Grandma and Grandpa were nice enough to come babysit so that Nanc and I could go on the Harley Owners Group (I am the Newsletter Editor and Webmaster for our chapter) Fall Colors Ride. The weather was clear but cold; only about 40 degrees. Ethan just loved Grandpa's shoelaces as you can see from the picture below.
Here's Grandma with Emma grabbing onto her shirt, saying she's all mine Ethan, keep your hands off!!
Thanks again for coming up and watching the kids so that Nanc and I could make the ride. Ethan and Emma had a great time with you.

Emma's first tights
I was shopping for some fall jackets and hats at Old Navy the other day and saw these cute tights. I knew they had hearts on the legs, but had not idea they had a big heart on the butt. You could not see it since they were packaged folded. Emma looked so cute wearing tights for the first time.
Saturday fun with Ethan
This is after we went shopping while mommy and Emma slept in.

Karen, Hannah, CJ and Halle come by for a visit
My cousin Karen and her adorable kids Hannah, CJ and Halle dropped by for a short visit and Ethan and Emma loved the attention. All three are so good with the twins. It was so nice of you to drop by on your day of from school.
Someone had a rough night last night
not to move her or she is right back awake and ready to play. Hence
the blanky under her head. Sometimes I think she is nuclear powered.
Who needs food or sleep. Evidently not our little Emma at times. She's
just like her mommy. Full of energy and not wanting to miss out on a
thing.

Getting into thimgs at Grandma's
take Ethan for a walk. I went out to get the stroller out and see
them off.
When I entered the house I heard the distinctive sound of a metal
handle hitting a pail. Looked into my
old room where Emma was sleeping on a blanket on floor and sure enough
Emma had woke up, rolled over to heavy iron pail that Mom uses as a
trashcan and had tipped it over, spread the contents and was flipping
the handle up and down. Not bad for 90 seconds of work. Here's the pic
to prove it.

Hey Dad I can help with laundry!
I left Little Man by the 3 sided mirror upstairs for about two seconds only to return and find him helping "sort" laundry. He had pulled it down off the door an out of the hamper. Can you say it's gate time! Neither he nor Emma can crawl, but they still get around by rolling or scooting along the ground. Ethan can finally scootch forward. Initially he would get so mad because he would get further and further from what he was trying to move towards. Sad, but funny too.
Emma gets into trouble
Emma is our little drawer lover. On vacation she kept opening and closing the desk drawer with her foot while I was feeding her and now tonight she figured out how to open the drawer to the coffee table, pull herself up and start emptying it out. Let the games begin!

Emma and Ethan go on the AIDS Walk
Well the weather turned out to be cool, but much nicer than originally forecasted. The winds were down and no rain. Ethan and Emma were great little babies and were happy the whole time. It was nice to get them helping others at a early age. Thanks to all that supported them.
Here's a pic of Emma on the way back to the parking garage. She got a little tired of the stroller so I put her on my shoulder and she proceeded to lick and eat my ear. Laughing all the while.
