The twins at 28 weeks

Went to the Dr. this past Wed. and in his words “Well, you are just cruising through this pregnancy!” What a great way to end the year.

Pictures are getting harder to see anything as space is getting tighter in the “baby condo’s” like moving from a house to a studio apartment for them the past 28 week and over the next 12 weeks they will feel like they are moving into the mini-cooper! right before they become mini poopers. Sorry couldn’t resist. Babies are moving around more now and they actually poked me in the the other night when I was working the closing late shift at work and came home late and went to bed. It’s amazing how kids like routines, even before they are born. Nanc usually gets up at 4:30 and I have noticed if she is sleeping in later than that on day off the twins still wake up and start kicking. Then go back to sleep when she would be getting on the train.

Nanc took her glucose today to test for Gestational Diabetes and the results came back great so that is not a issue and is always a concern for pregnant women, especially of twins.

Her blood pressure is still on the low side of normal so that is great as well.

Ethan and Emma (names may change ... again) are now 2 lbs 5 oz. and 2 lbs 1 oz. respectively (up from 1 lb. 8 oz and 1 lb. 5 oz. at 24 weeks). They want the babies to be in the 20-50 percentile range of birth weights for this age and both are which is good. They is only a 12% variance in their weights which is well within the 20% variance range that they want to see as well. So all is going great at this point.

Nanc is still doing great, and the only issues she has is getting winded much easier than normal and a pull in her leg caused by the ligaments or tendons that support the babies. All in all not too bad, I think it really helped that she was in such great shape going into this. She is awesome and never complains.

We now have 1 crib, 2 bassinets, a highchair and 2 baby baths all donated to us already so we are well on the way to being ready for the twin bundles arrival.

We go back in two weeks and then have to go to the dr. every week.

Next visit will be a tough one for Nanc they have to do the prenatal stress test where they poke and prod her belly to get the baby to elevate it’s heart rate for 15 minutes. It is usually hard enough with one baby, but they have to do each one separately. I’m sure she will get through it with flying colors as all the other hurdles and inconveniences she has tolerated but I feel bad I can’t do it for her.

Well that’s it for this update, thanks to all for the great support and encouragement thus far.
