"It is their world and we are just living in it"
-comment from our friend Melanie
Welcome to Ethan and Emma's Blog.
This is the place to keep up with Ethan and Emma's antics.
We have been overwhelmed with all the kind words, gestures and support over the long journey to get here. We could not have done it without you.
Love,
John and Nancy

I like your glasses Mommy
Ethan loves the Mommy's glasses that were a party favor at their friend Jordan's birthday party last year.
Emma loves to ride the vacuum
Oh the irony of it, With the twins I need to vacuum all the time, yet Emma makes it so much more difficult. As soon as it appears it she hops on it and let's the wind blow up her shirt and hair from the exhaust vent. Today I had to pull her around on the vacuum as I would vacuum. She rode it like a pony.
Emma plays dress up and dresses up Ethan and Daddy
THe bath brush broke at the handle and Nanc's effort to convert it too a handheld one did not work, but Emma thought it made a great scarf. After she played with it, she decided to crawl over and wrap it around my neck, as well as Ethan's. One of us did not look so good, can you tell which one? I knew that I would have to play dress up at some time, but I was not prepared to at this age.
What a difference ten months make
We were packing up the bouncy chair today and Emma wanted to crawl in it one more time so I snapped a pic and thought I would compare it with her at 2 months old. Wow has she grown.

Ethan says it's time for a nap
I saw Ethan was rubbing his eyes and it was about time for his afternoon nap anyway, so I went to make him a bottle. As I finished making the bottle I turned to find that Ethan had grabbed a sleeper from the shelf where we keep them for night and carried it over to the gate by the steps and was standing there going "Boy is my Dad slow on picking up on things, I will have to help him out". It cracked me up.
What do you mean don't talk with my mouth full
Of course Ethan had to stick as much pretzel stick as possible in his mouth at once.
Ethan plays Darth Vader
Wish I had a audio tape of how Ethan sounded. He kept placing the lid of the bottle in his mouth with it covering his nose and when he would breath he sounded like Darth Vader, except instead of going "Luke", he kept sounding like "FEED ME".
Ethan having a good time
Just couldn’t resist posting this pic of Ethan smiling. He is daddy's Little Man.

Careful what you ask for!
Emma and Ethan learned to kiss last week. the first time Emma was playing on the floor and I ask her for a kiss and she crawled over and planted one on my lips and crawled off. Of course my heart melted. That was last week.
So today I ask her for a kiss and she promptly crawled over and put her little butt over my face and laughed. Think she was trying to make sure I knew who was in charge, and that I would be doing what she wanted; as long as she wants. Like I didn’t already know that. :-)

Twin Rules
1. If I like it, it’s mine.
2. If it’s in my hands, it’s mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
4. If I had it a while ago, it’s mine.
5. If it’s mine, it must not ever appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I’m doing or building something, all of the pieces are mine.
7. If it looks like mine, it’s mine.
8. If I saw it first, it’s mine.
9. If you’re playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it’s broken, it’s yours.
Really these are from Toddler Rules, but at times (many times) they apply to twins of any age.

Ethan and Emma make a mess
Well after several days of being angels they couldn't contain themselves anymore!
They only took half their normal nap, threw a bowl of soup on the floor after spitting out most of what I fed them and then they got into the magazine stash and went to town. They were having so much fun I just let them go at it. That or I was too tired to stop them and figured it would be easier to clean up when they went down for their late afternoon nap :-)
